Walking by the river.

It was that kind of day
With the Spring Sun soft and warm
There was a kind of energy
That moved within my form
I could have walked the whole day long
As I felt me, natures pull
Oh Lord those river trails are beautiful.

I passed a group of roos
Who were grazing by the river
Some Parrots screeched above my head
And set my heart a quiver
And as those creatures gave their calls
A Kookaburra laughed
Oh how I love to walk that river path.

It was that kind of day
That you’d like to last for years
With the country air rich in my lungs
And my mind all calm and clear
I could have walked until I dropped
Along that river trail
Feeling good and living in the now.

Thought of the day -by  Aman Rohra

Enjoy this festival of lights with nature

Opt for diyas over electricity
Do not use electric lights to illuminate your home. Instead, opt for diyas (earthen lamps) and candles.

Cut down on crackers with other fun options

Get all the children of the community to go for a nature walk the evening before and collect dry leaves, grass, twigs etc. Then celebrate this festival of lights by lighting a bonfire on the terrace or in an open space and serve homemade sweets and sherbet

Use natural colours

  • For white, use rice powder
  • Yellow: Pulses or turmeric
  • Brown: Cloves or cinnamon
  • Green: Cardamom (chhoti elaichi) or fennel (saunf)
  • Red: Dried chilly or even kumkum, if you wish
  • You can even make a rangoli out of fresh flowers -- their fragrance is sure to create the perfect festive ambience.                                                                                       Decorate your home

Opt for homemade sweets
Some of the choicest Diwali sweets you can try making at home would be:
  • Laddoos made of besan and rava (semolina)
  • Barfi made of coconut and milk
  • Kheer made of milk, rice and jiggery
  • Shakkarpare made of flour, ghee and sugar
  • Gajar ka halwa made of carrots and mil

 Personalise your gifts

  • Bake cookies or cakes
  • Make homemade sweets
  • Make candles of different shapes and colours
  • Paint a picture
  • Create an artwork by using pieces of bright coloured cloth on a canvas
  • A potted paper plant or a bouquet of paper flowers
  • Try your hand at pottery and make a small decorative vase

Make your own cards

Cut out pictures and stick them on craft paper to make your very own customised rangoli drawing on the card.
Use kumkum and haldi to create Goddess Lakshmi's footprints on your card.

Give back to society

Donate old clothes, stationary etc, play games with them or make sweets at home and celebrate Diwali with them.
Share your smile and spread cheer during this Festival of Lights.
You can also visit an old-age home and spend time with the elders sharing stories, listening to songs from old movies and eating good food.

LGT Update ---- Ayush

Hi there . This is a fascinating work of engineering . I mean , its just UNBELIEVABLE .
This is the Volkswagen XL1 . This is a Volkwagen's 1 litre car . It is a two person concept car . This car was desiged to be able to travel 100 km on 1 litre of diesel , while being both roadworthy and practical . To achieve such economy , it is produced with lightweight materials , a streamlined body and an engine and transmission designed for economy . This super work of engineering has a unbelievable fuel economy of 0.9 km / 100 km . Some pics :-

Awesome Ain't it ?

Wow

Ayush

Friendship Forever

We have something that holds us together
Something that made us both better
Something called being a friend
It makes the fun never end
And it helps me to know that when
I am down and blue
Because you’re my friend
I can count on you
We run through life without a care
Would anyone try to part us?
They wouldn’t dare
And when the time comes for me to go
I really want for you to know
That even though my life has come to and end
I will never stop being your friend
